First of all, always be polite to him and treat his daughter well.
Second, dont reinforce the stereotypes the media projects about black people.
Dont act or talk like you just stepped out of the ghetto.
Dont take it too personally because every young man pursuing a girl has to prove he is worthy of her to her father, no matter what color he is.

First off, if he doesn't like you, it's not your problem and there's nothing you can do about that because you can't change who you are just to get approval from someone. Second, just because african americans robbed his house some years ago, doesn't mean that all african americans are the same way. That is what they call a stereo type. lastly, if I were you, and believe me i've been where you are, if you have to prove yourself worthy of dating his daughter and get his approval so you can be with her, then maybe you should think to yourself if she is really worth all the trouble that you're willing to go through just to be with her. Furthermore, does your family feel the same way about her? anways, what I'm saying is that what someone looks like on the outside doesn't define who they are on the inside and if he can't accept you for who you are and not judge you based on the color of your skin but on the content of your character then I say let it go because it's not worth it, even if you do love her or whatever, love shouldn't do all of this. Hope this helps you and all the best to you and your girlfriend.

So what if he has a thing against black ppl. And just bcz he got jacked a couple years ago by black ppl doesnt give him the right to think the same thing about all of the black ppl,....
As long as you know that your in love with her and you know that you guys will be happy, thats all that should matter.

My sister married a black man and my dad was not pleased, until my brother-in-law was deployed to Iraq. Then my dad was proud to have him as a son-in-law. Go figure. I am not suggesting a grand gesture of heroics. Perhaps if you just let him slowly get to know you, play cheerful and stupid. Pretend you don't notice, and if you are a great guy he will come around, hopefully.

WELL FIRST CAN YOU SEE IF YOU THINK U AN YO GIRLFRIEND HAS A CHANCE TOGETHER. DO YOU WANNA GO THROUGH ALL THE RACIAL THINGS THAT HER FATHER MIGHT SAY. THIS IS A CONFLICT WITHIN YOURSELF. ALL THIS IS IGNORANCE OF HER FATHER IS CRAZY. HE THINKS ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE SAME. SO YOU HAVE TO BREAK THAT BARRIER THAT ALL BLACKS ARE THE SAME. SAY IM NOT THE AFRICAN AMERICANS WHO ROBBED YOU. IM A YOUNG MAN WANTING TO GET TO KNOW YOUR DAUGHTER. YOU SHOULDNT CHANGE YOURSELF FOR SOMEONE TO LIKE YOU.

A group of people should never be held as the representative of one race. But it happens just try to ease your way on his good side.

1. you are the guy who is trying to take his little girl away
2. you are of a different race-(I guess -your pic is white but you are asking because dad doesn't like black people so I'm assuming they are white and you are black)
just continue to be good to his daughter and good luck he may never like you

Just get to know him. Show him that you treat his daughter with respect. If he sees you as an individual he will be less likely to judge you based on what somebody else did to him.
But, it might be more difficult than that depending on how stubborn he is.

wow well I think you just need to spend some time with him, help him to see that your a good guy. My boyfriends mother hates me and she doesnt know me. We've met twice now. Most parents find a reason to hate their kids boyfriends and girlfriends...it sucks. but it just takes time and a little work and they eventually come around. My b/fs mom told him to either break up with me or move out. 0.o
