me never babysit, later she hardly ever came down to visit, the thing is i find it really hard to ask people for help still, i assume they are not going to be interested, my mother used to help my sister with her son but never me, even get him really nice presents and mine crap from jumble sales. how do i overcome my fear of asking for help,

hi hon... sometimes we feel we are not deserving of help, and it's usually the result of the way our role models (parents, and others) treated us... so you aren't abnormal.

i am sure you are the type of person who is happy to help others, and in taking a look a that, i'm sure there are many people out there who'd happily give you a hand... just ask...

Sometimes you would have to fear in the eyes because there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Don't concentrate on what your mother does or doesn't do, you just worry about who are the ones that are there for your children regardless of what your circumstances are. Your children just need to know that they are loved and that they will always have somebody by their side. So be strong for your children sake and most importantly your sake.
