The Playmobil take along castle says ages 4-7. My child never sticks things in his mouth, and has plays with his sisters smaller Angelina Ballerina Castle with lots of tiny pieces, for about a year and has had no incidents. We all ways supervise and encourage family play. So age is not an issue. I'm looking for Durabilty and more a long term play toy.

Imaginext is more durable and more age appropriate. Playmobil falls apart, is significantly more expensive, and is for children double your son's age.

FYI Playmobil falls apart easily. Imaginext does not.
