MY friends want to have a party with alcohol, but I know there are going to be some minors there and I dont want to be liable, but at the same time they are pressuring me to serve drinks. But if I can make them believe there is alcohol in the punch and there really isnt, they get a night of acting like fools, and then I will just tell them that there really isnt any in there at the end of the night. Do you think that would work? Could I still get in trouble for it?

You should be able to get 'rum essence' or something similar in the cooking section of your supermarket.

Just mix up a giant punch bowl, wil a little less sugar in it. Put fruit in the bottom and tell them that it is Jungle Juice. You won't get introuble, maybe just piss off your friends!

Better yet, get some juicy juice, and open it and let it sit open for about 2-3 days in the sun or under heat. It will give a slight fermented taste, even though it is not. Add that to your lightly sugared punch.

you'll still be liable if there are minors at the party that gets busted, they will quickly wonder why they are drinking from a special punch bowl and probably get into the real stuff anyway

You could always get a keg of odduels or some other non alcoholic beer. It might not be worth the money to you but they would never be able to tell the difference.

Since alcohol evaporates when heated, try boiling rum for example. You'll get the flavor, but not the kicker.

That's how I make rum cake and no one has gotten drunk on it, yet.
