I know this sounds immature, but what is something that totally STINKS that is not harmful that I can carry in my pocket or purse? Don't say $#!T or something like that. I am tired of this one woman puffing away when it's just a few of us standing around, and I want to make the point by doing something stinky right back at her when she blows her smoke at us.
May not work, I know, but wondering if anyone has ideas. We have tried asking her nicely to move or whatever and we've tried moving but she is fierce about her rights to smoke and if we move she follows us. We are on public property outside so we really have no rights to tell her to stop.
So folks, what stinks????

For clarification: we are not outside on a "smoke break" We are waiting for our KIDS to get dropped off by the bus! YES she smokes where kids are!!!!!!

Get a personal, battery powered fan and blow that smoke back in her face and away from you. I bet she'll have a hard time lighting up and be forced to back off.

A lot of states have laws against smoking in public places (even outside areas). Call your local police station and look into it, maybe a school's bus stop is one of them. My advice is to find a different way to handle this. Why make yourself seem smelly to get back at someone for smoking. Try ignoring her for a while. I'm sure the only reason why she's following you around is because you let her know it bothers you. If this doesn't work, everyday bring her some sort of literature on the evils of smoking. You'll wear her down eventually.

There is an aerosol spray that you can buy in novelty shops that smells just like a fart. Get a can and stand so the wind blows from you to her.
You could spray it right at her, or:
Keep it in your purse so the top of the can is above the edge of your purse and every time she inhales, squirt a little spritz of it toward her.
If she moves, move with her.....LOL

Instead of carrying something which will make you smell bad too, why not buy a fan and start fanning the smoke away when she's puffing? Or just tell her that her ciggies make you feel sick and could she not smoke near you. Or hold your nose!

try dropping a stink bomb or spray body spray all around her. i am a smoker but if someone was to ask me not to smoke i wouldn't smoke or i would move away from them so that my smoke was not going around them. Yes i understand her rights but i understand yours also. it is only common curtiousy not to be so rude as to do what she is doing.

you sound like a gang of bullies. we all know your type at the school gates or just waiting to pick the kids up in your cliques. she is smoking in the open air and like you've already said, you have no rights to tell her to stop. good on her for defending her right to smoke. its in open air so there is no second hand smoke going around, you have no grounds to complain. if you move and she follows you, simply dont stand near her in the first place.

You could try tuna, that's been left in the warm for a little while. Most people hate that smell. You could use cat food- that's a really unpleasant smell.
Maybe even Garlic.
These are all common stinky smells that people hate.

as a smoker i am always conscience of non-smokers, i don't smoke inside anywhere.. but..
this lady is smoking outside in the air, maybe you could stand in the way the wind is not blowing, she maybe smoking where the kids are, but it isnt like they are gonna get any second hand smoke..give the lady a break..

I would just carry a bottle of perfume and when she starts puffing into your face...get the bottle out and spray towards her. Just make sure it is not directed right at her face.
Make sure it is a cheap nasty brand!
