The man was a Hero, as were the rest of his crew, by dropping the bombs they saved millions of U.S. and Allied lives from having to storm the beaches on mainland Japan, where all civilians had been or were being trained to resist even by turning themselves into kamikaze weapons.
I will light a candle to his memory tonight, God Bless him.

I've often wondered if he ever had any guilt about dropping the bomb. If that was me, I think I could justify it, but I'd still feel guilty.

I didn't mean any disrespect by it. I'm just curious about the human condition. If you look at Stanly Milgrim's experiment with shock, you see that people do a lot of stuff they might not ordinarily do. Even if it is for the greater good.

I read he had no regrets. It's a shame it had to be done, but I'm glad someone could step up to the plate when needed. I honestly don't know if I could have. War sucks and should be avoided at almost all costs... almost all costs.
