I am also having a beach wedding my bridesmaid dress are going to be tea lenght halter top, A-line, and going to be the same color as our wedding color (ocean blue with white shawls). Any dress will work it is really just up to you. I found cute dress at Davids Bridal (but there customer service sucks) So I found the same designer some where else. Alford Angelo is also a great designer. The bridesmaid dresses is the hardest decision I had to make for the whole wedding.
Best wishes to you in all you planning and on your special day.

Dearie,
My sister had her wedding on the beach and it was lovely.
Just because the wedding has a beach theme, doesn't mean that every single blessed thing associated with it has to have a beach theme.
Find lovely [perhaps pastel] dresses that you and your bridesmaids agree on, and when you are creating the bouquets, you will have lots of opportunity to add shells, or beach grass, or other "beachy" things.
One more suggestion - if you are going for full-length dresses, raise the hem a little higher than normal so that your attendants can go shoeless, and that even if they do wear shoes, they won;t get sand all over the bottom of the dresses.
Congratulations! Good luck!

Alfred Angelo, Davids Bridal.

Your bridesmaids dresses don't have to be beach themed , just select for them simple light weight dresses in a beautiful beachy color ... light blue, coral (a universally flattering color) yellow (this one may be hard to pull off with some complexions) or fuscia.. I suggest either a strapless or halter necklines ... Go to David's Bridal and look for style # 81372 or style #F12284 for a little inspiration ..

I found my bridesmaid dresses on line @ lavahut.com they are located in Hawaii, and the dresses are really beautiful, and not to pricey.

Try looking at JCrew. They have great lightweight dresses, and as a bonus your bridesmaids could wear them again!

I am doing this in the Caribbean.
My suggestion is to go with a lightweight dress (organza is really good).
Most designers have a 'destination' collection which features these kind of dresses. or an 'informal' collection.
