A Lithium Ion battery does not suffer from the memory effect you refer to. If you allow it to fully discharge you will damage the battery. These batteries prefer being charged regularly.

Not in the sense you are asking, but improper storage will shorten the life of any battery. A big mistake with Lith Ion is extreme temperatures.

I'm under the impression that all rechargable batteries can have the memory mark happen to them. Sometimes you can erase it by draining the battery completely and letting it charge all the way back up again...sometimes it works.
