yes. this is actually my favorite laxative.
If you ever decide to quit smoking, you could substitute shredded wheat or whole grain bagels for the cigarettes. The effect isn't as immediate, but you will poop eventually.

For some people these act as natural laxatives: Prunes / prune juice * Figs / fig juice* Molasses* Liquorice* Chocolate
* Coffee* Alcohol (within recommended limits!)* Spicy food / curry
Nope nothing mentioned about nicotine. Also you can frequent the GNC and see what they have.

Caffeine is usually a laxative in and of itself for most people. Maybe the nicotine cocktail is just a psychological problem manifesting itself as a physical difficulty in your case? Have you tried a patch or something in place of the cigarettes - trying to "fool" yourself?

Caffeine is a stimulant that will give you loose stools in large quantity. I don't know about nicotine being a laxative but it has an adverse affect on the nervous system causing the jitters similar to caffeine's.

It's not that they combine, it's that each works separately to get things moving. For coffee, it's the oils, for the cigarette I think it's the vasoconstrictor. So you end up with a synergistic effect.

caffeine is a diuretic so it actually impedes proper bowel movements as it causes stool to be drier than normal. nicotine stimulates the bowls, so they both effect the process differently.
you need to get off of these stimulants. if you need to take them just for your body to function normally that's a serious problem and will only get worst with time.

I understand and feel your pain....
I quit smoking 4 months ago and it took forever for things to go back to normal...
And that is all I have on that subject.
Peace.
