The majority of people on this planet really are incapable of understanding science, or they're too lazy to make the attempt. They want easy answers so they don't have to work but they also can't handle the idea of "I don't know". "God did it" is an easy answer.
The truth is that its laziness. And probably alot of denial, ill education, and brainwashing from their parents.

Because they close their minds to reason. They believe based on what they want to be true rather than what makes the most sense. They refuse to learn and understand evolution. If they actually gave evolution a fair chance, they would learn that evolution is not a theory at all. Evolution can be observed today. Sure there are many theories involving aspects of evolution, some of which are false and other which may never be proved true or false. But those are just theories based on evolution. There's also been theories based on bible passages which may or may not be historitcally true (water canopy theory, etc.). The bible does not declare either way on these subjects. People just make guesses based on context clues, but they cannot say for certain. If they are wrong, it does not mean the bible is wrong. It just means that their particular theory is wrong. Same thing goes for evolution. If someone's theory about evolution is wrong, that does not mean that evolution does not exist and does not occur. It simply means that their particular theory was false. Evolution is still very real. Unfortunately, many people would prefer to remain in ignorance. It helps them feed their religious fantasies.

The idea that given enough time, molecules turn into man, is embarrassing to me. If a frog turns into a prince in an instant—well, that’s a fairy tale. But if a frog turns into a prince over millions of year—well, that’s evolution. But I still say it’s a fairy tale.
Swedish biologist Soren Lovtrup made an interesting statement: “I suppose that nobody will deny that it is a great misfortune if an entire branch of science becomes addicted to a false theory. But this is what has happened in biology...I believe that one day the Darwinian myth will be ranked the greatest deceit in the history of science. When this happens, many people will pose the question: How did this ever happen?”

The ideal that the universe had a beginning was considered "repugnant" to some of the most prominent astronomers less than 100 years ago. But we now know that they where wrong. A simple question, life does not come from non life. the miller experiment in the 50's has now been so discredited that is has been removed from most science books, so do you have any example of how life just "spring" into being.? I didn't think so, and your great grand children will not either assuming God allows the world to stand that much longer. Life can never come from nothing, even a child knows that.

because there is a segment of society that has lost the ability to think and reason....
evolution is all around us, daily, but they don't see it....they think it's only that bit about 'men from monkeys'.....in fact, evolution touches us in many ways.... let's say a doctor has a sudden insight about what might stave off a disease.... he talks about it with a lab researcher and they begin to formulate a way to come up with that very thing that might work... they do, then they test it, compile their research into something to show it's ability and then go to the higher-ups with their proposal.... if they like it, it goes to pharmaceutical factories and then after a bit, to those who need it....
now, the doctor didn't get the idea and POOF, there it was on his desk to give to the sick guy... the pill 'evolved' from an idea to a reality....
that's just one... pick another.. work it thru from the idea to the conclusion... from inspiration to reality.... things just HAPPEN that way around this planet and I see no reason why the planet's origin would be any different.... inspiration to reality... many steps to get here.... whether 'anyone' had the 'inspiration' is up to y'all... for me, it's not a necessity... it just started and happened.....from an abnormal cell division caused by solar radiation, to homo sapiens... cause/effect....simplified, I know, but it works for me.... y'all fight on.....I'll just watch...............

The words 'creationism' and 'Genesis' are interchangeable. If you cannot see the obvious idiocy of this fact, you deserve your ignorance.

Because we are all entitled to believe what we want. How most people view the creation is no more absurd than believing the universe came from nothing and is now what it is.

God said what is true. The Bible says that God created all things after their own kind (in other words, no crossover).
