I'm interested in the Air Force academy in Colorado.

But if that idea fails...

Just wondering

Thanks

None. True military academies are operated by the military and attendance creates a service obligation. Attendees do not pay tuition.

A private college that operates "like" a military academy would not have a service obligation, however there would be tuition. One such school is The Citadel in Charleston South Carolina: http://www.citadel.edu/

What they said. All or our nation's military academies require service after graduation. The length of time owed depends upon the career field you enter. At the Air Force Academy, that is going to be a minimum of 5 years at the moment.

Not bad considering that Sri Lankans owe 20 years.

none of the Servoice Acadamies: you attend there, you owe them a minimum of five years after graduation.

VMI and the Citadel, are civilian run military type schools. If you do not attend ROTC there, you will not owe a military obligation upon graduation.
