Has anyone ever been on this medication? I was prescribed Valtrex today for suppressive therapy of my cold sores, but I had to back out when I realized it would be $75/month. This will be only $10/month. Any advice?

Acyclovir is a medication used in the treatment of herpes, that's what cold sores are herpes simplex, it would defentely suppress the cold sores; But if it is out of your budget, you can always treat the cold sore on the spot with over the counter medications that help expidite the life of the sore, they usually go for $20-25 per treatment
