There is a great deal of confusion about these issues. First of all, nothing comes from nothing. Weather there was a big bang or something else, there had to be a cause of the big bang. What came before the big bang? Every effect has a cause until we get back to the first cause that is an uncaused cause. This uncaused cause is what we call God. What do we know about this uncaused cause? Not much, only what He has revealed to us. Some say that is very much, but it is probably very little. The big bang and evolution is not a certainty. It is a scientific theory, which may be discarded at some future more enlightened date. It presently is the best scientific explanation of the discovery of various kinds of life found millions of years ago, but that there is no evidence of mammals in that period.

Intersting what if. This what if shows a lack of understanding of the scientific method. The big bang and theory of evolution have changed over the years as new observations have been made. The original premise has not been disproved-modifications to the proposed mechanism have been made. Science is an unbiased search for truth. You asked if evolution and the big bang were "disproved" would I believe in a creator? Yes-if that were the only viable explanation yes. However, by the same token if the bible were proved to be an allegorical story would you believe in evolution and the big bang? There is a mountain of evidence for the big bang and for evolution as well as a mountain of evidence that as a literal book the bible is not true. Would appear that the probability of having to change one's belief is much greater for you than for me.

First of all the big bang and evolution are two entirely separate issues.
I need no explanation of how the universe came into existence, nor do I need an explanation of how life began. But I am certainly more inclined to believe a scientific explanation than a supernatural cop-out.

I believe nothing is impossible, just highly improbable. If there was physical proof found of a all knowing creator that created the world and its inhabitants then I would accept that. Unfortunately, as much as I wish there was no end to life, exsisting physical proof of how things have evolved through the ages tells me otherwise. The belief of one all and powerful being seems like too simple of a answer to a very complicated question.

lol. Then we'd be forced to ammend the evolution and big bang ideas.
No, it takes much more than that to make me believe in any god. You see, if you proved that the big bang and evolution didn't happen, then you'd have to prove that it didn't happen one of the OTHER miriad possibilities that do not include god.
Go research it.
As for believing and worshipping... well those are two different things. If the god DOES exist (and the chance is so minute that it really does not exist), and he is like the Christian god, then I'd rather go to hell than worship such a sadomasochistic egomaniacle bastard.

If the theory of evolution and the Big Bang were *proven* false, I would hope there would be a new theory put forward and examined. I would not believe in a Creator unless I was given reason to. Not knowing is not a reason.

I use whatever the science supports. If there was evidence to put the theory of evolution into question, I would go with whatever modification to the theory it would create. But it has to be noted that there is so much evidence for the current theory, it would be very, very hard for the majority of the theory to be falsified. Lots and lots of evidence would have to be contradicted.

There is no belief involved, evolution is fact, and while the big bang is a theory it is only because it can not be tested. I don't believe, I understand. Also you needent be afraid of science, we are not here to disprove god."Science simply lets us admire his work in greater detail". The big bang explains how, not why. God is not precluded from the equation.

Glad you asked 'cause I believe that God didn't create the universe. Yes, I believe in God and I believe that the universe has always existed along with God. Ok, I'll say it again for those of you who got shocked by the initial statement. Both the universe and God have always existed. There was no beginning of time and all that weird stuff. There was no God BEFORE the universe because God has always been here.
Makes me a very small portion of the population. Have a great day!

What? Those are hypothetical questions right? Modern technology cannot disprove all the evidence we already have for evolution. It has already been proved. If something else comes along with enough evidence then evolution could be reconsidered.
