can anyone sugest any charities or grants organisations that can help?? they only need 4 thousand pounds to finish building off for the kids to live in.....

we are in contact with the charity. my husband speaks swahilli, they keep calling us to see if we have anything yet

Have you considered the needs of childrens charities at home? Whilst not as obvious the needs are sometimes greater.

Contact the orphanage and ask them how to help. Many times money is sent to some foreign need and the money is stolen in the mail. Ask them how and where the money should be sent.They would know if their is a charity in this country that would funnel the money to them, or if it should be wire transferred to a local bank, or whatever. The mails in many places are opened and read. This allows opportunity for some people to defraud you by posing as a member of the orphanage staff. Ask some test questions in your mail.

I would try to have a local fundraiser of some sort. Perhaps contact your local newspaper and have them interview you. Put out a local plea in your community. Perhaps some local businesses will help sponsor this.
