I am the same way. I am 6'4" and weigh 160 and fluctuate up to 165 on occasion. I can not gain weight. I tried everything you did, but gave up and accepted myself and now I am happy. I do have a friend who "broke" his metabolism. I would talk to a nutrionist before doing this, but he ate 4k calories a day and about after a month he started gaining mad weight. He then started lifting and taking protein and now he is a pretty strong guy.

no...you just aren't ingesting a sufficient amount of calories to create a caloric excess.

start out at 3100 calories for 2 weeks, if there is no weight gain then increase your calories by 10% each week until you do gain weight. at this point start taking bi-weekly body fat measurements so you can make adjustments to your diet if needed.

THE ONLY WAY TO NOT GAIN WEIGHT IS TO BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU CONSUME. IF YOU ARE REFERRING TO WEIGHT GAIN AS YOU GROW FROM CHILDHOOD I DON'T SUGGEST YOU TRY TO AVOID NORMAL WEIGHT GAIN FOR YOUR PHYSICAL PROFILE.
