I joined the marines and i felt like i was pressured into an mos which i didnt want and a ship date that i didnt want either. Im about to leave really soon like 3 weeks after i graduated and a week before i turn 18. I was thinking if i dropped out since i asked him if i could change anything and he told me flat out no since i went through meps and all that crap. So i was thinking if i dropped out is it at all possible i could get back in and get a different mos? or is that totally out of the question

See thats the thing i already tried doing that changing the ship date. Instead all i got was this from the recruiter. "no you cant do that man you just have to go to bootcamp" He started cussing me out and calling me a pussy and a bullshitter and said i would never get another military job if i dropped out. Im so confused on what to do. I mean i really really want to be a marine but it seems like there making all the decisions for me. I mean this is my life right?

not goingt o be easy at all. You have a choice:
stick to your guns and tellthe recruiter you weant to renegotiate your contract, or you aren't shipping, period. it is his JOB to reneg if that's what you want and if you are qualified to do the MOS you want. sounds like he's just being lazy and doesn't want to do the additional work involved.
be prepared to walk if he won't/ Then you have two choices: go over his head( you have that right) or don't ship and run the very real risk of NOT being allowed to ship at a different time. the Marines will look at it as you bailed on them once already and will not be willing to take a chance on you again.

It depends on why you dropped out. A recruiter isn't going to waste his time on someone he feels isn't really determined to become a Marine when he has 5 more people beating his door down. The Marine Corps has no problem getting their quota of recruits, they'll select among those who apply. A Marine Recruiter must provide eligible recruits, if he thinks you may not make it through recruit training, he'll bypass you. They have a fairly low failure rate in recruit training because they have a stringent recruiting program. Probably 70% of those who are recruited by the Army would fail Marine Corps boot camp.

You can drop out of DEP any time. The recruiters hate it but there is nothing they can do to force you to go. You're not really in the military until you go back to MEPS on your ship date and swear in again, for the second time.
As for dropping out of DEP and then, later, joining again I'm not sure what the current policy is on that with the Marines. My guess is that you'll need a waiver. Once you've established a history as a quitter they become leery about taking you.
********It's your life right up until the minute you swear in again on your ship date.

My son did the army delayed entry, and we were told AFTER he was at basic that any time before he arrived at basic he could have changed his mind and gotten back in. He went through MEPS twice, mind you - once when he signed and then you do it again when you arrive at basic.
You may want to check this out, but let me also say you may just be getting cold feet - he did. He went, cried the first week, lots of drama and now couldn't be happier that he stuck it out. He is in his senior year of high school and looking forward to his AIT when he graduates from school.
Give it a chance, you've made a good decision!!

Read your contract.. I know my contract said if I did not ship with out good reasons the day I was suppose to I could be banned from joining the military for 2 yrs.
Read over everything if you get another chance read it before you sign it , talk to your recruiter ask him to do a reno on you if he refuses, go up the chain of command of that recruiting station...
Good Luck!
Armywife & Soldier
Edit: have him reno your contract like now, call him stand your ground tell him you want him to reno your contract...

Yes, you can drop out of DEP,
You have to ask in writing to be let out, send the letter to the MEPS Commander.
Yes, you can try and enlist again, after dropping out of DEP.
But you will need a wavier signed by the MEPS Commander to be able to try and enlist in the Marines again.
Now what do you think the chances are, that the MEPS Commander, who just approved you dropping out of DEP, will actually approve a wavier, for you to enlist in the Marines ??
Not likely !!!!!
You can enlist in one of the other services after dropping out of DEP, without a wavier.
Also, there is the fact, that why would your recruiter, waste his time with you again, after you dropped out of DEP the first time ?
So yes you can drop out of DEP, but don't figure on going back to the Marine recruiter, anytime soon.
They would make you wait atleast 6 months before they would talk to you again.
