Have sailed Victory twice. She is a beautiful ship..you'll love her.

One thing I can highly recommend in St. Thomas is the Paradise Point Skyride. It is right across the pier from where the ship docks. They take you by cable car to the highest point in St. Thomas and the view is spectacular. THere are shops up there and a coupla nice little places to have a cold beer or beverage and a burger or something to eat. The view alone is worth the trip.

Would be a nice thing to do first thing when you get off the ship or towards the end of your sightseeing to cool off.

I took my 7th cruise this past December on a variety of cruise lines. I have visited the western Carribean each time, although a variety of islands. The cruise line I can say is the best would be Norwegian. Being a younger traveller, I don't enjoy the whole "dressing up" thing as required on the other lines. Norwegian offers casual cruising (they call it freestyles) where you don't have to dress up for anything. The line does offer a formal night but its optional and only in one of the several dining rooms. I also enjoyed the variety of pay resturants offered on the ship. THey were very reasonably priced and the food was delicious. For a meal I spent $10 on on the ship would have easily been $50 or $60 on land. Another feature I really liked was the art auctions. Being a casual art buyer, I found their auctions to be the best. They were very reasonably priced and all pieces come to you framed. I also found this company offered more original pieces of art than any other sea auction I attended. Norwegian also offered a lot of activites not found anywhere else, such as a murder mystery dinner. I also found the entertainment of the Jean Ann Ryan dance company out of this world. The food wasn't the best on the ship but I feel the freestyle atmosphere of the ship accompanied by all of the other things mentioned make this the best choice for your Carribean cruise. Good luck!

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then on "Ports of Call" for the ports you'll be visiting.

You're probably going to Nassau, San Juan and St. Thomas, maybe? Those are pretty easy ports to do excursions on your own in, although if you are at all worried about that, then you should go with the ship's excursions.

The saying is that you should take fewer clothes and more money than you think you'll need!

On CC, also check out the "Carnival" board, the Carnival "Roll Call" board for the Victory and the "First Time Cruisers" board. Lots of great info.

Have fun!
