Back in the day when I was in school I noticed that almost every single girl we went to middle school and high school with said she'd been raped. When I started college I noticed that the number of girls that had been raped dropped big time. Now that I'm approaching my 30's I've noticed the number of girls that have been raped has gone up again. How can seriously 7 out of 10 girls I've asked today as an experiment have been raped? Is society gotten that bad where if you have a vagina you are going to be raped or am I having my leg pulled?

Hi... maybe in high school, it was a "fad" for girls to say they were raped -- but if they weren't, it's not a very nice thiing to accuse someone of doing to them.
Women have had sex against their will for thousands and thousands of years...
The FBI estimates that 72 of every 100,000 females in the United States wereraped last year - this was taken from the article in sources below.... for your info.
And i've come to find there were 32,000 rape related pregnancies in the United States last year, as well....just those which were reported.

It isn't just teen girls it is rape survivors of any age. I think alot of people will say stupid things like she was wearing blah blah so she asked for it. Well she went out with him so she must have wanted it etc...Then say that they would never do that as a way of protecting themselves like well b/c I don't do this or that then it would never happen to me. Noone no matter what she was wearing who she was with what she was doing deserves to go through the pain and suffering that the rape and the healing put you through.

Actually, I have 2 friends say that they were raped. It seems when they do talk about it the story always changes. So do I believe them or just let them recreate the moment as they want to believe it. If they had been why did they not go to the police--no one will ever know---and why won't they tell you who he was?

sounds like those girls need serious help...rape is not a joke. i think theyre looking for attention but thats not the way to get it. people who are raped don't go around telling people

Some regret having had one night stands, but the majority have been forced in some way. Hard to answer that question really. The real question is "Why do some people lie?"

most girls lie about it becuase its too freaken embarassing to have some mistreat your body like that, when a girl is raped a big chunck of her was stolen and she will never get that back. however some girls who never get raped who lie saying they have are very strange, thats something i wouldnt mess with. becasue rape is very serious and some guys will never understand that. just becuase we dont have a penis doesnt mean we're destined to get rape. but its sad that happens everyday.

Most women find it as embarrassing as they do traumatic.
Many feel that, to acknowledge the event is to empower the rapist. So they don't.
