Ok my girlfriend set her digital camera on the hood of her car and it fell off. It must have hit just right because now the zoom lens is jammed and wont retract back into the camera. Neither of us really have to money to get it fixed. Any Ideas on how i can fix it at home? The camera turns on but the lens wont retract and it wont let us take photos.

Camera repair is not a "do it yourself" project. Oh, you can take it apart (and maybe get shocked) but its doubtful you'll be able to do any repairs.

Use the one that fell as a paperweight and start saving for a new camera.

Don't even try to open it up. I usually like to open things up to try to fix them. I tried this on my Sony camera that worked, but had gotten some sand in the lens and was making some grinding noise. I ended up not being able to put it back together, and ripping a very importing wire off.

oh no! sorry but it's over if you can't get it to a repair shop.but you could try calling a pawn shop-usually someone there knows how to fix stuff like that(they have to in order to keep things on the shelf) but anyway maybe they could do it pretty cheap.goodluck!

Sorry, it's more than likely dead. If it's a Sony it's defiantly dead, been there, done that.
