Obviously they know you're getting older. What you're really asking is "why do they still treat me like a child?"
There's nothing you can say or do to convince them, and you shouldn't try.
When you BECOME more mature, more responsible, more trustworhty, they will see it without any help from you.
However, you will ALWAYS be their child and they will ALWAYS do what they think is best to protect you, and sometimes it will be too much. I'm 39 years old and my father still wants me to call him when I've returned home after a long trip. I'm a parent myself now, so I understand why and I respect it.

You dont need to convince them at all, they dont want to know you are getting older, its just a reminder for them that they are as well. Its a sad thing but we can only get on with life and experience new things as well.

well i screwed up alot so the fact of age was never an issue, it was maturity...but just do what they say, stay out of trouble, and be smart about your money spending. but dont try to grow up too fast, im 17 and a senior and everyday i wish i could go back and be a kid again.

That is something that comes with time. You have to let them realize that on their own. They judge by your choices and actions. The more you act older, act by meaning live, the more they will see you change.

My parents were intelligent enough to realize that we all age. They did realize that I was becoming more mature with age, as I'm sure yours haven't! Your question proves that fact.

you might consider revising this question, giving age and circumstance... if you are 14, well, you are still under your parents' care.. if you are an adult, then set some boundaries and limits in your life.
