There are heaps of recipes on the net and everyone posting them says that they are just as good as a thermal oven - see :

Do not believe them. They lie like hounds.

I am a reasonably good cook and I have never made one out of the microwave that was anything more than disappointing. If you must do this, get a microwave cake dish - looks like a big do-nut mould - fairly cheap from supermarkets.

You should have some recipes in your book that came with the microwave oven. But everyone is right, microwaves don't brown

No, but you can bake a very successful cake in the microwave on microwave setting and the later just brown the top in the microwave using the grill function

I wouldnt use a microwave oven, but do you have one of those portable roasting ovens... they work wonders and they are cheap.

IT TAKES RADIANT HEAT , AS FROM A STANDARD OVEN, TO GET THE BROWNING ON THE SURFACE. THERE ARE RECEPIES FOR CAKES ON THE MW, BUT THEY'RE NEVER AS GOOD AS STANDARD OVENS.
