ASDA sells the cheapest party stuff, theres also a good website called partybox.co.uk, they have pirate themed ideas (which my 3 year old loves too) go on the internet american websites have great arts and crafts ideas, i've learned how to make halloween costumes (can't even sew) etc

If you live in the UK i would try poundland/poundstrecher those type of shops, or you could even make a bandana and pop that in, might try pirates of the carribean notebook/colouring book i would try toys are us they have things like that for not very much. Hope this helps

Get down to the stores quick and get all the old halloween stuff, chocolate eyeballs, etc. Great for the party bags!

Have you checked the dollar stores. We have a dollar tree here, i went in looking for a plain Happy birthday banner for my daughter's b day party. They had pirate theme and princess stuff, hardly no regular party stuff. Not sure if you have one or not, but its sure worth checking out.

i bought my daughter a pirate chest pinata from sainsburys. you need to buy the sweets, balloons etc to put inside but the kids had a great time taking turns bashing it with a stick. when it did eventually burst and all the goodies fell out i just gave them empty party bags to put the goodies they picked up into. EASY. hope this helps.

Get those chocolate gold coins that you get around Xmas - they can be treasure. You used to be able to get blow-up parrots really cheaply too.
