hey..i tried to make muffins and i have the ingredients and every thing,,,but when i made it ..it was hard like a rock hehe..is it because i put alot of vegteable oil??.....and is bicarbonate soda diffrent than paking soda??...plllz help..what sould i do ??

Sounds like you overmixed the batter. Muffin batters should be mixed as little as possible, lots of lumps should be left in the batter. When you overmix the become hard and chewy.

If you followed your recipe it shouldn't have been too much oil and baking soda abd bicarbonate soda are exactly the same thing.

baking powder and bicarbonate of soda aren't the same at all... you can't substitude one for the other i'm afraid! try again with the right one!

did you add baking powders. if recipe called for baking powders thats what you should have used not soda.
