Life expectancy changes with time. it depends where u are from.
if you are from developed/developing country it is increasing. but in places like africa the life expectancey is going down.
anyway, the figure is an average. it doesnt mean everyone dies at 55.

Yes, it changes with time--the longer you have already lived the longer you will live. Life expectancy is based on the deaths of everybody. Lots of children die in childbirth or at an early age, so that lowers the average quite a bit. Also nuturition and health care becomes better as time goes on. A lot depends on your financial situation too, if you can afford to eat well and have access to health care you have a much better chance of living to a very old age.

It increases over time, as you escape childhood illnesses and accidents.
For example, the life expectancy of a newborn might be 55 years, while at the same time, a twenty year-old with the same demographics would have a life expectancy of 65. His forty year-old doppleganger would have a life expectancy of 75.

Life expectancy is only an educated guess... Guesses can be wrong. Live every day to the fullest and enjoy whatever time you have left. You might have more time if you're not smoking or drinking too much and don't sleep around not to get STDs... My Greatgrandfather lived to be 89. My grandfather almost made it to 75. My mother is 58 and living. ( these are all in the same bloodline.) who can say? My husband's grandmother is 102!... I would want quality of life vs. quantity of life.

When a friend of mine was born his life expectancy was the age of 16 as time went by and all the medical technology they have out there now he ended up living to the age of 38, don't worry about it you'll be fine.

It changes. Life expectance is an average of how long people of your current age live. As an infant, that average consists of both people who will live to 100, those that die in drunken car crashes as teenagers, and mortalities from sudden infant death syndrome.
Once you make it to age 10, your life expectancy goes up, as the people in your age group will not diminish due to childhood illness or disease- the overall average goes up.
It keeps going up as you keep living- when you get to 55, the average will be from people who will die at age 55 to people who will die later- overall, the life expectancy of your group will be greater than 55 years.
Of course, that says nothing for when you will actually die, but at 30, I don't think you have much to worry about.

Quite possibly, depending on who the 17 year old and 30 year old are in question. E.G. A man who truanted from school and ended up getting in jail at 18, still there at 30, would not be as clever as, say, the next Einstein at 17

Your life expectancy is calculated on various factors. As these change so your life expectancy will change. If your diet or medical care improves, or you take exercise, or you give up smoking, all of these things will help to extend the amount of time you are likely to live.

It is all about how you live your life. If you take care of yourself and see a doctor when things don't feel right you can live to be 100. The thing is that no one really knows when they are going to die. Anyone can get hit by a bus tomorrow you just never know. Take of your body you only have one and live everyday to the fullest. Enjoy life and have a blast. Stop worring when you are going to die it will just depress you and that is no fun.

Yes it changes with time and goes higher because the average count includes people who have had better living conditions and better medical care etc etc.
Generally standards have impoved
But life expectancy is meaningless because you could suddenly die in the next 10 minutes or live to a hundred
