Get your cat spayed. There are many health benefits associated with cats being fixed, both male and female. Also, your cat won't go into heat, so you won't have an annoying crazy psychotic cat running around howling. Female cats can go into heat if there is a male anywhere in the area. You may not see the male, but your female can smell and hear the male and she will call out to him.

It will prevent spraying, which females will do, it isn't just males. I adopted my female as an adult, and she wasn't spayed, but she is now and she still sprays when she gets nervous. I didn't know she wasn't spayed until she went into heat within a couple days and it was awful. She was nuts, and attracted several rough looking cats which sat outside my front door. She was puling some exorcist moves too, and unfortunately we had to spay her while she was in heat for her own safety and the safety of other, and it cost a fortune since extra bloodwork and monitoring had to be done since the surgery is more complicated while they are in heat.

If you want a bunch of kittens later on, go to a shelter and adopt a litter, but be prepared to keep them forever. There is such an overpopulation of cats right now that domestics and "pet" quality purebreds (what most people have) should not breed. Breeding should only be done by an experienced person that is trying to better the breed, not breed for kittens or profit. There is no profit in cat breeding. You would be lucky to break even.

I am not being preachy or anything, but there are enough cats in the world without purposefully creating more. Unless you have an exotic or rare breed of cat, I wouldn't do it. There are enough domestic shorthairs out there to make a person's head spin- we don't really need any more. The only way you can guarantee that your cat will not get pregnant would be to have her spayed. Also, before you decide you want your cat to have kittens, you need to think about the expenses that go along with it. Since there are so many kittens already in the world, you are not going to profit anything from them if you were planning on selling them- you will actually end up losing money because of the cost of food, worming, vaccinations, etc.

Just don't let her outside and dont get a boy cat until you do want her to have babies. I don't think there is a cat birth control pill.

There are birth control pills which can be used in cats, but they can have serious unwanted side effects such as the development of diabetes mellitus. They cannot be used for long periods of time.

Spay your kitty please. If you really feel the need to have kittens around you can volunteer to foster kittens for an animal shelter or humane society. Foster homes are always needed and it is a way to enjoy kittens and do a good thing at the same time.

are you joking? or are you truly dumb?

Pls just go spay your cat... as other answers say there is enough cats out there, and they do not need to be breed...

Spaying your cat does not only control the cat population, this will also help your cat behavior and avoid any future complications, like ovarian cancer & such...

there is a pill you can give to your cat when she comes into heat to end the cycle but of course every heat cycle is contributing her her risk of cancer later in life.. is it worth it?

is yoru cat a registered purebred whose parents attended shows or is she a "regular" domestic cat?
will you be showing her to PROVE she is excellent quality WORTHY of being bred?

over 6 MILLION kittens are euthanized every year in USA alone... if your cat has kittens they are part of the problem - even if you find homes for them - it means somebody elses kittens didnt find homes..

please if you love your cat.. please spay her.. she will be happier and healthier for it.

Ask your vet. He or she can give something to you. I've heard of a hormone thing that works but I don't remember the name of it and I imagine u could only get it from a vet.
