I think a specific weight is shallow, not a specific body type. If the girl is really tall, 145 might make her look extremely thin; likewise, if the girl is very short, 145 might be considered overweight. And some people carry their weight really well; my sister looks about 25 pounds lighter than she really is.
I don't like skinny men, but I'd never say, "Get on the scale; if you're under 150, you're out of here." I would be less attracted to him if he was thin, but it's incredibly difficult to judge a person's weight just by looking at them.
I say it's shallow to have a specific weight (particularly if 146 means she's history), but I wouldn't say it's shallow to have a particular body type. It is truly about personality, and if a skinny guy had the best personality, I wouldn't overlook him simply because he didn't fit my prefered body type. I'd give him a chance.

Men are visually stimulated and he has a right to what he thinks is attractive. I mean I like a slender muscular guy, but that doesn't make me shallow. It's just a preference. Now getting to a specific weight might be a little extreme. That can be a lot of pressure on a girl to stay under that weight. I t sounds like he might be a little controlling. I would definitely consider why he feels the way he does and why it matters so much to him. I mean girls lie about their weight everyday, is he gonna have a weigh in once a week or what?

How does he know just by looking how much a girl weighs? My sister is the same size as me and two stone lighter! (I've seen her on the scales, she's not fibbing.)
Anyone whos' main criteria for judging a woman is their weight should be lined up against the wall and shot. He's saying if you're over 145 lbs you're not a valid human. Even if you're under it I'd leave him now! What about if you said, oh you're not a real man, you dont have biceps that are 45" round. How would he feel then?????

You know, its shallow, but some guys, they just know what they want, and they dont really care much about whats inside. Especially in high school and less so but still very common in college.
Whats wrong with a cut off weight? Would you be offended if the cut off was 300lbs? Obviously thats a health issue, but still, why is it a man cannot seek a mate which is healthiest without getting criticized? I have cut off weights both ways, too light and too fat.

If he truly loves you, he wouldn't care about your weight and if you did weigh so much that it was effecting your health, he'd help you lose the weight. But not going out with a girl for the sol fact that she weigh's over 143 or w/e is shallow. That tells me that you had an x around that weight and you still miss her enogh to have all you next gfs tht weight.

Think of it this way...if you date this guy for awhile, get serious, get married, have babies...will he stand by you when you gain 50 lbs of baby weight and spend 2 years trying to get it off? Not worth waiting around to see how he reacts. Good luck.

SHALLOW!!
I'm about 20 lbs heavier than that and I don't look that bad.
it depends on your height and how much muscle you have, etc. no one can say that just because you are 146 you look bad, that's not how it works, its how you carry yourself, how you dress, how you look.
