My poor husband has just had a colon operation to heal an haemorroid and today started bleeding quite heavily again.
He was watching his diet very strictly but last sunday he had a lunch of junk old fried food at a Restaurant, I said to him not to eat it but because he knew the owner he felt embarrased to complain and ate it all. Could this have provoked a recurrence of the haemorroid? Thanks for advice

it could have, if that's the situation that caused it in the first place.

I think you are right in siggesting he tries to keep to a healthy diet as he's just had colon surgery. Poor guy.

I'm sure his doctor would say that if he can stick to eating lots of fibre, drinking water
xand no junk junk food for a couple of weeks then when he has healed a bit he can sneak in a treat or two without having to suffer afterwards. Fried food always makes my stomach play up ---why does it have to taste sooo good??!! lol

If only they would listen to us, eh? They'd be alright!

Best wishes to you both from me.

Regardless of what you eat for the most part, eat fiber in addition. You can buy a fiber supplement in the store and mix it with water. He should use it every day to keep his stool soft and remind him not to strain.

yes of course because he eats less fibers foods..it would be very hard for him to defecate. my advice is to drink lots of water, fiber fruits and veg. minimized eating of spicy and greasy foods..including large amounts of meat or solid foods..

Yes certain foods can make hemorroids reoccur. He needs to make sure that he watches his diet so it doesn't reoccur
