Is it legal to carry a replica grenade around for bonfire night as a joke? Could the police shoot me for this?

OK. Technically, the possible offence would be being in possession of a replica firearm (a replica grenade would be classed as such) with intent with intent to cause fear of violence. If you had no such intent, then no, you wouldn't be committing an offence.

Yes it is illegal to carry a hand grenade around. Not the brightest thing to do either.

It is classed as a prohibited weapon.

You could be shot dependant on your actions. More likely that you would be compliant when challenged.

If the officer has reason to believe that the weapon is real then they may use reasonable force against you.

If it looks like a grendae then the officer may assume it is a grenade. Just like people who rob people with real looking toy guns get hooked up for Armed Robbery.

At this period of time, it would not be a good idea and probably not considered funny by law enforcement. If you think it's funny, then you will really get a laugh when your face is pushed into the ground and a cop has his knee in the back of your neck.

I have never heard of it being illegal... though were you in a stand off with the police and they thought it was real, I can't see how that would be an different than them thinking you had a real gun, and if they thought you were going to use it... so yeah I could totally see you getting shot if you were stupid about it... just remember, if they tell you to hand it over nice and slowly, you should listen...
