As an artist...
Try drawing the human body. That is what makes it artistic.
Biblically God created the entire universe for man and man was his final creation. We were naked in the garden and walked with God in the original creation. The human body is an amazing thing whether you believe we evolved or were created. From an artistic perspective rendering the human body in two or three dimensional form is a feat which requires vast technical skill to do convincingly and tastefully. 'Art' goes beyond technical skill. "Where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art," ...Leonardo da Vinci.
If you look at many church paintings like the Sistine Chapel the people depicted in the creation, garden, and hell paintings are nudes - our natural state, laid bare for nothing is hidden from God. In common Christian thought, we will be laid bare before the Judgement throne and we wil feel utterly naked and exposed.
For a nude to be art it must go beyond just a naked body.

Nudity in itself isn't art. When nudity is portrayed in a non-offensive way and the focus is on the beauty of the natural form, then it may be considered art.
Most of the nudity we see is intended to titillate, or used as a tool to commercialize products.

One of the reasons that nudity in some forms is considered art is because you can get some interesting, contrasting lines in a picture of a human without clothes. Another is that the contrast of light and dark can be sometimes very extreme.
That being said, you can achieve these things without nudity, also.:)

nudity is not considered art, for the sake of nudity, nor for the sake of art. Pornography is not art. There is a difference. There is a time and a place for "nude" art, such as Michaelangelo's "David". Modern artists use "nudes" mostly for shock value. As time goes by, only the works that survive will be considered art.

In some cases, it's not so much the subject but rather the artist ability to bring the subject to life that makes people stop and admire the art.
Also in others, the human body is an interesting creation and when given the proper respect and dignity is a very lovely object to admire.

A painting or sculpture of a nude shows flowing lines and beauty in creation. The art is showing the majestic of the body made in the creator's image. We are not talking about magazines that exploit the body and show it in an erotic way but more in an exotic way.
To some people the body is beautiful to behold. Just like some people love to see a sunset.

Nudity isn't seen paintings, the inventive portrayal of nudity is. there is not any longer something as stressful to recreate by way of fact the human physique, and not something incredibly so eye-catching and worthwhile while finished. to be waiting to tug it off is fairly a feat

Nudity is not art but it is natural, only painting of the naked body is art. However topless women on men's magazines or pictures of that nature is not truly art but profane. Our bodies should be respected and portrayed in a natural way and not to sell sex.

It's not the nudity that is the art, it's the artists potrayal of that nudity... the nude person is just the subject of the artistic impression... photography, sculpting etc is the art, regardless of what it is that's being photographed or sculpted

The human body has lines and contours and creates poses that are often difficult to capture. Humans are very animated, our bodies reflect our amazing range of movement and emotion. The nude is a fantastic subject for any medium of artistic expression.
