At last, someone has taken these people to task.

These people do not represent Christians or Christian beliefs.

Has anyone here had any experience with these people?

Legitimate point, Tom. I should have said they do not represent ALL Christians' point of view. I do not agree with them, but I cannot speak for ALL Christians.

those people"claim" to be Christians...

there is nothing in what they are doing or saying that has anything even closely related to Christianity....

I don't care what that service man did in his private life....

He was a MARINE and EARNED the respect, gratitude, and FULL MILITARY HONORS.....

HO RAH...

That so called church is an embarrassment to God and to Christians.....I do hope the baptist community at large deals harshly with that group and shut it down.....

those are the crazy people that make the rest of the world think all christians are like that!!

I would go read my Bible in a bar before I would set foot in that sort of church....

I'm so glad someone has at least attempted to stop these people. I agree, they do not represent all Christians, or even a sizeable portion of us. Of course the free publicity they're getting because of the lawsuit may be what they are really after.
They came to my city several months ago, and thank goodness the guys on Harley's were there to drown out all their nonsense. I didn't know the family of the fallen soldier, but on my way home I traveled down a side street and the roar of the motorcycles was deafening :) It was awesome! The family came on TV that night thanking those who drowned out the protestors.

"True" Christians are to follow Jesus example. Is this how Jesus spread his message? Jesus did not get involved in politics. He said his "kingdom is not part of this world" John 18: 36. He said you would know his followers "because they are not no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world." John 17:14

They are a very poor example of a christian. What they have done shows total lack of respect for the family and the deceased, and a total bigoted attitude toward homosexuals.

I thought they represented the blind hatred that many Christians have for certain groups of people, but are too limp wristed to express. I notice that no Christians were out there doing counter protests, because many of them were cheering them on.

It was nice however to see them have to pay for their ignorance,I cheer this decision just as I cheer the decisions against the Catholic Church for their decades long abuse of children, and the ensuing cover-up that was condoned all the way up to the Vatican.

I've never had an experience with them, but I despise them all the same. Have some Human decency for sh*ts sake! Those families were mourning the death of their children. THAT should be a sacred event, unable to be protested, ever. How SAVAGE!!!

They are going to appeal the decision, and I'm sure through some sick loop-hole, will have it over-turned. So disgusting.

Yes, they are morons (they're all from the same family...were the grandparents cousins?).

But you can't say "these people do not represent Christians or Christian beliefs" just because you disagree with what they do. They take their message from their interpretation of the bible (albeit an extremist one), so they are Christians. Just...not a standard by which someone should measure all christians.

I've only had remote, second-hand experience. When the Amish children were killed in their schoolhouse in PA, these idiots were going to actually picket to prevent the funerals... and get this...not because they have a bone to pick with the Amish, but because they were angry with the governor of PA.

These people are dangerous.

Yes, and I am reminded how the Lord tells us that He will judge the nations, every single heart and those who are claiming to be saved and who go about living this way are going to receive a HARSH judgment--- as the Bible says that Jesus will one day say to those "Depart from Me I never knew you"

i despise these people's actions. but at the same time, THEY believe that they do represent christian beliefs, they believe that what they are saying is condoned by god, and i even hear people on here quote "scripture" that support the same ideas, just not as aggressively.

that is why i think religion is dangerous.

though mean, i think it would be just to protest the funeral of one of their church members. perhaps give them a taste of their own medicine.

i honestly think they are too thick headed to see what they are doing to people.

even though im not christian they offend me greatly. they offend the christian me as well. (i was a christian for half my life - if i were to still be christian i would be equally offended by them)

which makes me wonder, how can christians go on letting people do this in the name of their god? speak against them or something.... i dunno. =]
