*laughs* Trust me, no need to get defensive, I'm well aware of the neurological origins of these things, just curious if anyone else has had the experiences.

When I was in 3rd grade us kids were all having fun turning our faces beet red. They said I was doing it really well and should check it out in the mirror. So I was there at the mirror, which was behind the drinking fountain, popping capilaries, and the next thing I know, I see myself fall down from a perspective about 6 feet behind my body. I saw a line of kids, waiting for the fountain, and one fat kid leaned down toward me. Next thing I know, I'm looking at this kid, I'm on the ground, and he's slapping me.

I tried to meditate and astral plane about a year ago. I saw a white "curtain" of light come down (my eyes were closed) which was accompanied by a feeling of "surfacing". Another time I was trying and I felt a "tap" on my chest, like someone just tapped firmly with a couple fingers.

That's all I know. I'm still atheist.

I had an experience that gave me the evidence I need to stop believe in the life after death story told my many religions. It is nothing like as told.

My atheist sister had an obe but immediately recognized it as a medical condition brought on by working full time and working on her masters fulltime. She drove straight to ER and was sedated, then ordered to rest. She's been fine ever since and knows it was brain induced.

I had a really bad acid trip in the 80's does that count?

BTW, Char, we are Atheists as the question stated, we have no 'lord'.

Just cancer.
But, the Lord brought me through it and here I am. It was touch and go for a while there.
