Or is that only expected from those who 'finger point' at others' religion/beliefs, and put down all those who disagree with their OWN ideas and beliefs?

You should be able to explain why you believe as you do.

The bible speaks of a 30 fold & a 60 fold & a 100 fold Christain, which means a 30 fold will never be a 60 or 100 fold, & a 100 fold will never be a 60 or 30. Therefore The 100 fold will be able to undertand the bible deeper, But also more is required of them. & a 30 fold may not be as fast to understanding something, But the things they do understand will never be against any 60 or 100 fold Therefore God requires more from a 100 fold than a 60 or 30 fold Christians, But all 3 will see the bible eye to eye, but God knows mens capability of learning, so a 30 fold will only be required of that of what a 30 fold can understand, But when all said & done Yes the 100 Fold which mainly But not in every case, there is some 100 fold that is not a minister, But I do think that all ministers will be a 100 fold. Therefore God will only require a 30 fold to understand what a 30 fold is capable to understand. But by the time Christ is ready to come & get his Bride, rather 30, 60 or 100 fold, They will have known enough to go in the rapture.

The bible is a guide as to how man should live, handed down by god to the men who were worthy of this trust by god.
The most important part of the bible I believe is the 10 commandments, those are the rules of our lives.
Very simple rule but most find these rules very difficult to live by. The bible is translated and re - written each year, each time some of the meaning is lost on purpose or by accident but lost is lost.
Christians are not expected to know and or be able to explain the whole of the bible, only scholars can do that.
There are so many dark forces working against the word of god. This is a war started in heaven by Satan and he continues to fight his war against god here on earth.

We are mislead by promises of material things such as riches, fame and fortunes that are no good to us, some of us fall for his tricks. Satan use our flaws against us, EG greed, hatred, lies etc.etc he knows what they are he was the trainee in heaven. Satan can't create anything he can only destroy just like an unruly child.
Satan first action in his continued war against god and man after he was exiled, was to deceive Eve in the garden of eden. Lest we forget!

The Muslims religion train children to recite the Koran from beginning to end, the purpose of this is to ensure that no one can ever change the content of that scripture because it is checked at intervals.

I could say more but what is the point this is my answer to the questioner because i thing she is intelligent enough to understand.

Yes and if we don't Know the answer tell the person that you will get back to them with an answer. 2nd Timothy 2:15. You have to walk the walk and not Just Talk the Talk... It's called instruction not finger pointing. People have to be willing to Repent, Acts 2:37, 38, 40...Learn and Listen. Psalm 95:8.

It is not important to be able to recite chapter and verse from the bible. This would turn off anyone that you are talking to unless it was in seminary school. You should study the bible because it will bring you closer to God. It will help you develop a relationship with the Creator. This will also help you answer questions from the heart, and not like they were read from a text book.

A Christian should know enough of the Bible to discern true doctrine from false doctrine.

If you don't know much of any doctrine, then how do you know if what a person is telling you is true or not? Paul in Acts said that the Thessalonians were unwise because they believed what everyone said, while the Bereans were wise because they checked everything they heard with what the Bible said.

These "no doctrine christians" are far from what Jesus intended, and as you listen to some of them and what they really believe, you discover that some of them aren't Christians at all (I'm not saying this is true of you, I'm saying it about what happens at times).

As to my knowledge, we are expected to know the contents of the bible (but not necessary everything) and live by them.

The saying goes:
I do not require deep learning nor great understanding of my holy mysteries, what I require you is a strong faith and a virtuous life.

virtuous meaning:

1. with moral integrity: having or showing moral goodness or righteousness

2. chaste: not having sexual intercourse with anyone except a partner in marriage, especially a husband

I would say it would be good to know the bible doctrines so that you do know what you believe in and what you are following and not be mislead by the many who claim to be right but are not bible based but man made religions.

No Christian, however when informed about the Bible, can know everything about the Bible. Every Christian needs the Holy Spirit to reveal to him the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10) and there is restoration of the knowledge of the Word by the Holy Spirit as time goes on. Christians should know the foundations of faith, of repentance from dead works, of faith towards God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection from the dead and of eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1-3). In 2 Peter 3:18 we are exalted to grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and this we do by seeing more and more of the revelation of Jesus in the scriptures. Therefore allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to grow in the knowledge of the Word and of Jesus Christ as you are wholehearted and willing to do so. This, I believe, is what God expects of us. Through our knowledge of the Word we must know our Lord Jesus more intimately as He desires each of us to be His friend. God bless you.

I don't believe it is possible for anyone to know everything about the bible but you should at least know what you believe and why. You should know enough to defend your beliefs

Emphatically no! Even the most astute biblical scholars from all ages with their combined wisdom couldn't do so.
