then why the hell should be cater to all the foreign nationals...

If people really wanted to stop racism and equality they should bloody hell intergrate into our country rather than us change for them.

I agree, because when they change Britain, it will not be Britain as they know it and they may not want to live in the same kind of country that they came from. The same is true in America. They move to America because it is a great country and then they try to change it to be like what they came from.

We have a confused world!!!

I agree entirely.

I'm British, and Jewish, and I have just read in today's papers with increasing horror, that now Christmas is to be 'downgraded' and other religious groups' festivals highlighted. It's crazy!

Britain IS a Christian country and people from other countries should respect that. If Muslims don't like it, they should live in Islamic countries. If any of my fellow Jews don't like it, they should make aliyah to Israel. And so on for all other religious groups.

Multiculturalism has not worked. Britain should be what it always has been: a Christian country where other religions are welcome and have the same freedoms BUT where the official, national religion is Christianity. We need a British identity that we can all be proud of, something we alas don't have at present.

I'm an atheist. I was born and brought up (as a catholic) in Britain, and lived there till I was 38. I now have no religious beliefs.

I moved away from Britain because of the political situation there. Immigration and integration are a minefield. Racial discrimination is viewed as wrong unless it's against whites - in which case it's OK.

I worked for many years in local government, and POSITIVE discrimination was rife - people from ethnic backgrounds were given jobs over whites BECAUSE of their ethnicity. This situation is causing racism, not stopping it.

I couldn't believe the way the country was going, and it's worse now.

There's going to be a backlash soon, but the fault does not lie with the ethnic minorities; it lies firmly at the door of the political parties that allowed, and even encouraged, this to happen.

Church of England is (or was) the main religion in England. I'm not sure about the rest of the UK.

Concerning your other comments, I agree that we should not cater to foreign nationals, and I agree that they should adapt. However, we should accept them for who they are, and let them be what they want to be, as long as they don't try to change us.

Edit: My personal opinion is that state and religion should be kept completely seperate. No religion should be used to determine how a country is run. Logic and utilitarianism are best.

The Bible is the proof of Christianity. Native Americans were not introduced to the bible until 1800's. There were societies, Bundle holders, various items to hold your clan and beliefs together. No Bible to back that way of life. Catholics and Mormons came and created their own "manual" for their religion. You can also "religiously" brush your teeth every morning. The way, the truth and the light. The Lord.

Merry Christmas

Like someone said, not a very Christian attitude. There's no such thing as a "Christian country" and "cultural Christianity" isn't true Christianity at all. True Christianity is God's kingdom, not the United Kingdom, and true Christians are conformed to Christ's likeness, not some quasi Christian religosity.

It doesn't really matter if Christmas is "downgraded". It is pretty much a pagan festival of worship of the god of materialism anyway. Those who love Christ will always celebrate his birth, life, death and resurrection anyway. As it is, we are in a post modern, post "Christian", multi-cultural and religious society so we have to move with the times...

I'm actually agree with you 100%
I am perhaps a less vocal person and do not use such extreme terms when I give my views.
Unfortunately this is why our lovely country is slowly being taken over by these extreme groups, because most of the inhabitants of this country are calm and civilised like me and dont go in for long protests.
We need more like you to fight them at their own game.

I can not understand why a so called government think tank has come up with this information. surely if they had an ounce of common sense they'd know that all it will do is stir up more resentment. i know many non Christians that actually celebrate Christmas.

I cant begin to express my feelings about this (and other) articles. Yes, people who live her should intergrate and live the way we do, whatever happened to the saying 'When in Rome, live as the Romans'. I will stop there or I will recieve violations, suffice to say, I agree with you.
