Do you mean Dominica or Dominican Republic? [People confuse them sometimes.]

Dominica is a beautiful, mountainous island. It doesn't have a lot of beaches [the mountains pretty much come right down to the water over a lot of the island], but it does have beautiful waterfalls and forests and the reefs are supposed to be some of the best in the Caribbean. It is not as developed tourist-wise as many of the other islands.

We were there for the day on a cruise and did the Jungle Canopy tour with WackyRollers [they have a website]. It was such a blast!

Try TripAdvisor.com for hotels and forums about Dominica and you could also check out the "Dominica" board in "Ports of Call" at CruiseCritic.com [click on "Boards" at the top of the page to start]. Even though you're not cruising, there is good info there about things to do [though it's mostly about things near Roseau, of course].

Well I took a tour in a tiny van around the mountains. It was beautiful, you might be a little nervous going around corners on tiny roads though. To do list is a visit to the Emerald Green Pool. I really enjoyed this island.
