Science should be taught in school. The data, how it was achieved, what has been discovered -- these are the backbone of science. But science cannot mean much without interpretations as to meaning. Evolution is the reigning paradigm governing those interpretations at the moment and in that light should certainly be taught. It is not a fact apart from simple speciation, however, and should not be taught as such. I personally don't mind if creation is not taught. I do think, however, that challenges to the evolution interpretation should be discussed and the idea of options to that interpretation be discussed. But as for actually injecting a religious viewpoint into the discussion in terms of the Bible, the Koran, the Vedas, or any other religious work -- that might be a good project for a term paper to compare different ideas, but it is not a good idea for science classroom study. Since evolution itself is an idea that is quite pervasive, however, it certainly should be part of the curriculum, but it should not be treated as some sort of icon immune from challenge or disagreement. To do so is to disallow students to think their own way through data and possible meanings. We need scientists-in-training, not robots.

Everyone has the right to there own views and beliefs without someone to tell them or condemn then for there views. If you do not believe evolution, then that is your choice. But what gives you the right to tell others how they should think and believe. I always thought that was Gods job. Maybe you should become a Muslim and join the Taliban. They seem to be doing the same thing you are, total control

If I am an American I'd vote for Bush, too!
He makes a stand for righteousness and is not afraid to speak the truth and do what is right.
The world will be a better place if more Heads of States are like him!
God bless Bush and God bless America!

Evolutin is a fallacy that has never been proved. The reason intelligent design is not allowed to be taught is because of the seperation of church and state. However if you attended a christian school it would be taught. I like your term "evil ution" because it is evil. And so is Bush. He is the antichrist and a horrible controlling president who uses the church as a crutch to justify his murdering of millions of people so he can have his oil. I am so glad to be getting rid of him it can't come soon enough.

The bible also promotes war, incest, slavery, and genocide.....all things I'm sure you'd like taught to your children. Bush is a raving idiot, another term of Bush would finish his destruction of the US.

The Bible proves not! it says that god created us, to prove that is something else. just because you believe it doesn't mean it's proved.
and what the hell are you about bush?!
He's like the most stupid president ever and i don't mean just american presidents.
Lies is all that he's good at. then again, he can't even lie right!!

Terry,
Evolution has be refuted by even Darwin! Where are your facts?
Jeepers,
Don't preach evolution in my school, then ask me not to preach my religion. Evolution is a religion. It cannot be proven.
