No, it usually helps the administrators though.

I don't think I understand your question. If you are asking why christians help people in poverty, it is because we care about everyone, and God calls us to help those less fortunate than ourselves. If you are asking why it helps people in poverty, it would be because any monentary help will lift the spirits of those needing it. By the way, we also send the Gospel so those who don't know christ will have some knowledge of how to gain eternal life.

No, usually it's a cover to make money, like Pat Robertson's "Operation Blessing". Remember, he wanted GW Bush to intervene in Liberia to protect his money in diamond and gold mines there.

The Starvation Army is a scam- last week they had Oliver North in town to speak at their annual fundraiser, a man who is as unAmerican as you can find.

I do give to a local charity which uses nearly 90 percent of their money to feed, clothe and help the homeless. Most of the staff are volunteers and the director took a huge pay cut from his attorney job.

Why does eating a lot of calories make you thin? Why does watching TV all day make you strong? Why does picking at a scab make it heal faster? Why do you get higher grades in school when you cut class and not do your homework?

Why shouldn't it?

It's a Biblical mandate to help the poor
