Rev Fred Phelps was forced to pay 11 million dollars when his anti gay church protested at a soldiers funeral with signs saying "soldiers die, god laughs", "god hates fags", "god hates america", and "god loves dead soldiers". The only people i could see god hating is these contradictory hypocritical jackasses. I don't believe god hates anyone, for we all make mistakes and fighting for your country is no mistake, and we are all his children and he loves us.I don't think he luaghs when someone dies, rather, i think he cries. I don't know what kind of ruthless, heartless god they worship, but it is not our god, for although in their eyes it is, it has been molded to fit their views so when someone asks them to justify their bigotry they have "god on their side", which is not true anyone here agree with that guy?

they want attention and they know that the best way to get that attention is to attack the very people that have followed a tradition of defending the civil right of freedom of speech...those church going "god fearing" people are horrible people...i wonder how they would feel if the military personal and family members they inflict pain upon showed up at one of their family members funeral...with signs and chants...we live an hr away from topkea and every time we have a soldier from ft riley killed they're outside our main gate with their signs...and their hatered...thank goodness they're not allowed on post but it's still upsetting just seeing them here i can't imagine what the families go thru...

First off Rev. Fred Phelps is supposed to teach what the bible says about how we are all gods creatures. How can anyone that spread such filth and hate be called a Reverend? Just because he disagrees with the war and government that however does not give him the right to go to a funeral of a fallen soldier and start yelling such horrible things. That person is someones father, mother, sister, brother, son, daughter, aunt, uncle.............. There is always a family destroyed when a loved one lays their life on the line. It makes the pain worse and almost the soldiers giving up their lives pointless when there are idiots like that out there. I am speaking as a military spouse.

As a veteran, I can say that at my funeral there will be family and friends. It will be a small military affair with the flag folding, and the bugler playing taps.
I am very proud of these young men and women who are giving the ultimate sacrifice to our country. They deserve more than we can ever give. Fred does not care about families and friends and fellow veterans who are mourning. Fred also does not deserve the Constitutional rights these proud men and women fought to protect.
At dear old Fred's funeral I will make arrangements for a military marching brass band to play as loudly and as off key as possible. The US Army will use Howitzers to dig his grave. The US Navy will be there to insure the coffin is upside down and backwards. The US Marines will be there to pull apart the cross on his grave. When the service is complete, the US Air Force will preform a flyover and drop its bombs with precision on his grave.

I recently came across this man and his organisation, how awful he and his organisation are. If he hates America so much why doesn't he leave. Personally I think god will have the last laugh on him, and he will feel the heat. So no I do not agree with him and I guess most fair and right-minded individuals.
