Jesus saves - fair play to you,if you are telling the truth.I myself am pro-choice and do not judge others on their right to a choice, and already have kids. But having been in the position of needing to abort due to medical reasons I find it sickening that there are so many children needing good homes and yet pro-lifers stand waving banners calling people like me murderers, not being prepared to do anything themselves.

Catholic crusader - I can assume that you have never been raped, nor had the trauma of longing for a child only to be told it has a condition not viable to life.I pity your judgmental attitude.

And the answer is - I am not the one claiming the moral high ground saying that women should be forced into keeping an unwanted pregnancy.

I'll warrant you dont get many true answers here.seeing as most pro-lifers are bigoted,self-righteous hate mongers that have no first hand experience of the real issues.Sad fact is most will be juvenile christians parroting the words of their elders as they do with their other beliefs.
Anyone who has been in situation where abortion has become an issue,be it through rape, medical reason or personal circumstance will know that it is not a light decision to take.
I have been through the pain of one for medical reasons and it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make,or probably ever will.no doubt they will judge me too.
funny how their religion preaches of tolerance yet they find it so hard to swallow the pills they prescribe.

I haven't met one who is Pro-Life yet who has adopted or even works with orphaned children. I see a lot of them saying that Abortion is wrong (abortion used as birth control, I agree, is wrong... but I can't say all abortion is wrong, I know of too many other circumstances - one's they don't calculate in)... yet I also see these same people supporting War... It just seems to me that they want people to keep having babies so we can send them off to fight some War for greedy leaders. I don't see any of them supporting Health Care for the kids we have now (as a matter of fact, the one's who Lead this whole Pro-Life deal in Washington knocked down Health Care in favor of $$$ for the War)
And by looking at the arguments they're trying to give you, I'd say they are dodging the whole thing because they know they have not done anything like this and most likely won't either. But they'll continue to tell other people how they should live... Until I see them actually trying to do something for the kids we have on the streets now, I will not pay much heed to them screaming at people that they can't have an abortion because it's a life. Too often they try to save the unborn to turn around and ignore them once they are born.

I wish it was easy to adopt a child. I love children and am unable to have any of my own. I think this is why abortion is such a touchy issue for me.
I am sensitive to women who have been raped. That situation is complicated. I still could not condone abortion but I could understand a woman's choice to.
As far as children with defects or disorders, a very close friend of mine had a child the doctors told her would never live. He lived for three years and his time here was a joy to all who knew him. I know this is not the case in all situations but you can never know ahead of time.
We do need more people to adopt children, as soon as I am able to I plan to adopt at least 2 or 3.

I have eight children. Only one is my biological child. All others were adopted between birth and six months old. I was never a foster parent, but adopted all seven and I never received nor wanted one cent of government money. By the way, I am not a pro-lifer. I do however wish we could get more women and men to use birth control before an abortion is needed.

You know this is a funny question your side whines about all the poor children waiting to be adopted, well let me tell you a think or two about those poor children. As a US citizen if you have two natural children you can NOT adopt a third child from this country. My wife and I have three 1 is 19, out of school and own his one, one is a senior in HS, one is in 1st grade. We decided to adopt a little girl, and point blank because we have children were refused. so we will in the next few months be finalizing our adoption of a little girl from China. Don't grip about the children un adopted, because the laws are set up to keep them there. But anyway you go, there is still no excuse to kill a child for convenience. And if your side had the guts to admit it, you would realize that over 1,395,000 pre-born children are butchered each year in this nation for no other reason than convenience. That is abominable.

I believe in Pro-choice, it's only in the days when christian girls are raped, get drunk at the wrong party, or have relations with the wrong priest that pro-choice will look like an obvious solution. I think it stems from there eternal knowing that when they go to church that they have been talking to themselves for hundreds of years now. Constantly telling themselves everything is bad, everything is bad, i'm a bad girl, gotta do good to go to Heaven.
How can christians be so pro-life for American kids and be so pro-choice of different races, and different religions???

2 here, and I would take more. I would rather take a dozen children that would be well loved here than them be killed because they were unwanted by some self centered woman who neglected to use birth control. In my opinion if she was to have an "illegal abortion" and something happen to her she deserves that. It may be her body but that innocent little baby that she kills because it's her right had no say so as to whether it lives or dies it didn't do anything to her. We need to start taking responsibility for our actions.

Great question...along with "Pro-lifers, what are you doing to help support the children you insist should be born since, (benefit of the doubt here) you care so much about the sanctity of their life? And why do you often, as a demographic, support laws/stances that make birth control harder to access?"
(Not to mention, your bleeding hearts of compassion seem to be the _hardest_ at the mothers who may not choose to go through with a pregnancy for whatever reasons that be. I don't think I have ever met a more judgemental group who are less willing to truly open their hearts to compassion for ALL involved. It's what made me switch my stance, as I used to be a die-hard pro-lifer. The hypocrisy just bothered me too much as I realized that pregnancy is ALWAYS a big deal to the mother whether or not she continues it, and there is so much at stake that {SAFE} choice has to be available.)
I do find it very interesting that of all the questions I have read, seen, and answered since I started doing this Yahoo Answers, I don't think I have ever seen so many thumbs down! Let me guess who's doing them...
Now, if you could just expend some of that energy helping the children you insist be born rather than thumbing people down and saying cruel things (like a mother "deserves" what happens to her in an unsafe abortion), I could respect your stance... It's such a tragic paradox that the side that claims the most love and respect for life demonstrates the most hatred, judgement, and cruelty.

I don't believe in abortions but I do believe in keeping them legal for those women that feel they have to have an abortion. And I did adopt a homeless child.

We ought not to judge others. I support adoption with encouragement and money but I freely admit I'm not mentally ready to adopt.
I think we ought to put abortion in the category of self defense and not murder. The law ought to allow due process for abortion which would include a hearing.
