It's a flattering statement, but it's just not true. Because Mormons believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ and consider him to be the way to salvation, they are clearly a Christian denomination. It is true that they are not an orthodox denomination (they are neither Protestant, Catholic, nor Eastern Orthodox), because they don't accept the post-New Testament creeds, but their Christ-centered theology clearly qualifies them for the Christian label.
The only reason there is even any debate on this subject is because of certain fundamentalist Christians. Most objective scholars agree that Mormons are Christian. Consider this quote from an academic book entitled “Anthology of World Scriptures” by Robert E. Van Voorst.
“…the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints…see themselves as Christian, and most experts in comparative religions would view this labeling as basically correct. That they…accept the Christian Bible as their first cannon is a good indicator of this. Moreover, “outsiders” to [Christianity], such as Buddhists, would almost certainly recognize them as belonging to the stream of Christian tradition.”

Did this guy talk to any Mormons?
I feel it's ok for him to say whatever he wants. He's entitled to his own opinion.... no matter how much I disagree with him.
My opinion is that Mormonism is a subset of Christianity.... if he wants to divide Christianity into multiple subsets (Catholic, Protestant, and "other," with LDS and JW, etc being "other"), or maybe use "non-trinitarian and "trinitarian" as two basic sub-sets.... then I'd be more inclined to agree with him.
I find it amazing how many people feel that "non-trinitarian Christian" equals "not Christian." Just because someone doesn't agree with in your perception of things..... Ducks.
Wait a minute!!!! Maybe that's the way everyone is about everything.......
We have the same thing in Washington-- Dems and Repubs calling each other "un-American" because they don't see eye-to-eye in how to handle various issues that come up.... when (I suspect) they both really want the same thing- the best (according to them) for the American people....

by technique of definition, no. Pagan meant united states dweller, which implied the worship of the country God and Goddesses, really than those worshipped on the temples contained in the cities. because the Abrahamic religions were those worshipped contained in the cities they don't seem Pagan. Pagan now implies (even in spite of the indisputable fact that it is incorrect) that they are multi-deity religions. because Abrahamic are technically (even in spite of the indisputable fact that would nicely be argued in the different case) monotheistic that still would not fit the ideology of Paganism. As you will see that from John's answer above LOL! NO no longer all Pagans are polytheistic. really DILL??? i'd like very a lot to ensure your analyze because maximum of them i have heard of were no longer Abrahamic.

I'm not bothered by it. It is the mainstreams way of trying to be charitable and accepting without seeming predjudicially discriminatory towards us. Although we consider ourselves to be as Christian, or more so, than anybody else, we admit to having certain differences of doctrinal opinion. If they feel comfortable accepting us as a separate Abrahamic religion, so be it. It doesn't change the way we do business or the way we feel toward all of God's children. At least they are making some effort toward understanding.

Well, seeing as this was posted by a CHRISTIAN site, and the opinions expressed are from people who never considered us Christian to begin with, I'd say it's a load of bull. It's one person's opinion, and that shouldn't be counted as fact.
No matter what others say, I consider myself Christian. You can put whatever label you want on the church, won't change the fact that we all believe in Christ, and follow Christ and believe in Christ.
*EDIT*
I'm glad this guy came out and said what he really means. It shows just how closed-minded and bigoted he is. As if ONE GUYS idea of what is true is the ONLY TRUTH IN THE WORLD!!!! Get a grip!!!
*EDIT AGAIN*
I just read your response to almost the same question asked by another person, and I'd like to say thank you for your answer. It's nice to see someone who is willing to believe that what they hear might not always be right. It shows you are willing to listen to everyones opinion about things. Thanks again!!!

Didn't see your question.
Personally I think we're Christian. If you believe in Christ as your Savior then you have a claim on the Christian title in my book. We do believe differently than the Catholics or the Protestants, but it doesn't mean we're not Christian.

interesting article, I will have to study that item, it's possible of course, it will not change my opinion of their religion any, it's still not my cup of tea, but whatever floats their boat works for me, I know the truth and it knows me, all is good in my world!

I thought Rastafarians were. They're cooler (no offense, Mormons, but who would you rather invite to a party?)

They worship a different Jesus than the one in the Bible. They believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers and that Jesus is a created being rather than God. They have some very strange beliefs that you won't find in a real Bible (although it is in their bible...). Whatever people consider them, they are *not* actually Christian. But they are really nice people. All the mormons I've ever met have been cheerful and kind. I really like them.
