Fundies or fundamentalists are Christians who are extremely conservative and take a very literal view of the Bible. Many others believe their doctrine is nonsensical and out dated. Fundies believe they have a monopoly on Heaven and feel they have cornered the market on gospel truth.

The fundamentalists generally opposes the modernization of the bible and takes the bible as it is written. They can come from a number of denominations. The relationships between Fundamentalist Christians and Catholics are still often strained due to historical/cultural perceptions and strongly divergent views on a number of theological issues.

Fundie is short for fundamentalist and it will always be preceeded by a religion. You can have Christian fundamentalists, Muslim fundamentalists and Jewish fundamentalists. It refers mainly to a anti-modernist movement and taking the bible/Koran and other holy texts literally.

Shorthand for fundamentalist evangelical Christian.

Believe in the literal inerrancy of Scripture, do NOT believe in evolution or much of ANY science.

Believe Catholicism is NOT Christian.

Believe that everybody but them is headed straight for hell and will almost certainly complain bitterly to management when they get to heaven and see how many NON-fundies are there!

A fundamentalist Christian is the only true Christian. The first Christians were all Jewish believers that believed what would be called fundamentalist doctrine today.
