why do people think that just because a person has gastric bypass, they are going to efforetlessly keep weight off for life and not have to diet and exercise? have these people really looked into what it's like after surgery for these people?
Yes, there is a several month period where the weight comes off easily, but if you don't eat right and exercise, it comes right back when your body adjusts to the changes, and those that do what they are supposed to do keep it off, those who don't, gain back.
I had gastric bypass almost 3 years ago & I have to eat very carefully and exercise just like everyone else because I gain weight just like before. I can't eat sugar, I can't even eat cereal without getting sick.
I guess I just want to know how many gastric bypass bashers actually know what the procedure does to a person and what makes them think the weight just magically stays off without effort, where did that idea come from for those who think that?
thanks.
