What is your favorite scripture, or passage, religious, spiritual, humanist, or inspirational in nature of any book? This mostly deals with scriptures from the Bible, or Qu'ran, but non-believers and others--even Christians are encouraged to use other sources

Maybe I wasn't clear. You don't have to answer from the Bible. Most Atheists, I do not think, will choose the Bible or Qu'ran unless they're making a political point, or they believe that's all they have to work with.

No, Jilan, I will not thumbs down you. I don't thumbs down anybody who doesn't post a long copy-paste ripped from some website. I tolerate what everybody has to say.
All you had to say was: "God is nothing to Allah" right? I speak some Arabic, so don't think you can pull the wool over my eyes.

I shall pass this way but once, therefore, if there is any good that I can do, any kindness that I can show, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.............

I'm a Muslim, one of my favorite verses in the Qur'an is;
(2- 177.) It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces towards East or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in God and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and give Zakat (regular charity); to fulfill the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God fearing.
And these from the Bible ;
(Psalms)
1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Peace and blessings.

Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (There is no god to worship except Him), the Ever Living, the Sustainer and Protector of all that exists. He doesn't get tired and He doesn't sleep. Everything in the universe belongs to Him. Who then, could intercede between Him and his creatures without His Permission? He Knows everything about them and they have no knowledge except as He wills. His kursi (stool or chair) extends over the entire universe and He doesn't get tired of guarding and preserving it. He is Most High, the Most Great.
[This Verse is called Ayat-ul-Kursi.] [Holy Quran 2:255]

Romans 8:28
All things work together for good for those who Love Him, for those who are called according to His purpose
Then in Psalms 56, verse 8, I think:
He has our tears in a bottle.
Then in Revelation, John says that He will wipe all the tears from our eyes.

With all sort of abusive remarks and language on R&S, I get inspiration from the following verse of Quran..........
" Invite (people) to the way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful Preaching, and argue with them in the best ways."Quran [16:125]
This verse gives me strength to face all kind of harsh and abusive language which is often posted on R&S against Muslims & Islam.
It also opens up the opportunity to start a meaningful dialogue with anyone any time.

Being a muslim my favourite is bible words:
29 Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
37 Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with your entire mind. (Bible; Mark 12:29 & Mathew 22:37)
For himself he told about him:
3 "Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?" So they were offended at Him.
4 But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house." (Bible; Mark 6:34 and read Luke 4:24, John 4:44 also)
And he forbid to call him, even Good:
19 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is God.
20) "You know the commandments: Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal, ' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Honor you father and your mother.'" (Bible; Luke 18:19-20)

This is one of my current favorites because I see more and more truth in it every time I read it: "There are as many different worlds as there are perceivers, beings and individuals. You are not here to create one world where everyone is the same, wanting and getting the same. You are here to be that which you want to be, while you allow all others to be that which they want to be!" -- The Laws of Attraction

My favorite Bible passage is John 21:25
My favorite non-biblical quote comes from 3rd century China, from Zhuge Liang:
"The acquaintance of honorable people, even at a a distance, does not add flowers in times of warmth and does not change its leaves in times of cold: it continues unfading through the four seasons, becomes increasingly stable as it passes through ease and danger."
This quote made its way into the program at my wedding... part of our "Thank you for attending" message to our guests.

I'm not sure where this comes from and the writer is anonymous and it's not my favourite but it's a really comforting piece:
One night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with God, and across the sky flashed scenes of my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonged to me and the other to God. When the last scene in my life flashed before me I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that at times along the path of life there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of my life. This really bothered me and I questioned God about it. 'God, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way, but I noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed you most, you would leave me.' God replied, 'My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trials and suffering. When you see only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you.'
