wow! I am impressed with this diagnoses!
I have never thought about it in this way b4, like Christians are alcoholics drunk on religion. It could explain alot, like why they are so obsessed.
Atheists are sober people, we have to live with the knowledge that when we die, that's it!! nothing, we also know that in life you are on your own.

ok nicely I had an fairly sturdy existence early on, have many sturdy recommendations yet issues have been stressful and painful for some years now and it fairly is all gettin worse from here, and that i think of i could have felt that i replaced into turnin evil, you could watch your self you already know, experience it coming, in simple terms consistent failure frustration loss of previous targets all those issues, isolation, nicely you already know. yet once you're sinking you're able to make the alternative, wanna provide it one greater danger and permit your self to objective to be good and have faith that it will take you some place, or to in basic terms be miserably cruel. i think of it relies upon a lot on what occurs to a individual, activities, danger. all people can slowly be worn away no rely how confident, seem on the tale of interest... there is two techniques, the evil course is asserted by using some to comprise some sacredness to it, like Nietzsche reported, or like Rimbaud lived. it may be so, yet you're the two decrease out for it or no longer. some persons are in simple terms greater perfect useful with some form of wish. some human beings might nicely be ok and go finished throttle into the worst issues. It relies upon on character too. the two way, you reside authentic to what you do, real and something could be on the othe rend of the tunnel, that I nonetheless have faith. in basic terms problem is you greater perfect be arranged to stand a speedy loss of life in case you intend on spending it in bars and random intercourse and fights. Plus that leaves little or no readability. while you're pushed by using emotion then it rather is in all danger greater perfect i assume. I fyou are pushed by using theory then you could go a course aside. attempt to discover your purpose, attempt to hearken to for what demands you. do no longer understand if it is clever

A drunk hopes his problems will go away if he ignores them.
A true believer turns everything over to God and hopes HE will sort it out.
What's the difference?
It does go to show how people quitting drinking often end up transitioning to religious programs without changing a whole lot.

As Karl Marx said:
Religion is the opium for the people.
Though not a communist I have to agree with him. That's why religious fanatics often have a history of drug/alcohol abuse. They simply cannot face reality without a "drug".
@Everard: What does Dutch Courage mean. I assume it is not very nice to us Dutch people ;-)
Edit: I think the right quotation of Marx is : Religion is opium for the masses.

I do not agree because in China there was a sixth hollyman called Wai Lun who said a great words: The satvas is everlasting, I sware to save. Troubles is everlasting, I sware I solve. Intelligents is everlasting, I sware I learn. The satvas is everlasting, I sware I achieve.
The indian word satvas means all creatures in the world. Hindru believes all we did in the past, will have a karma result. We are sutborn to do something, actually we are not really understand the result and we will be in the six different world: sky path-Gods, man path-human, animal path-creatures, Asula path-quite move ghost with powerful,
Hell-suffering tortures, ghost path-indepandance spirit cannot doing his willing.
We must be clearing head to understand what shall we be and who will be and how we will be, same as a budhi then we can enligtenment or nirvana.

True, you can't drink your way out of a problem and you can't pray your way out either.
A lot of people seem to just replace one for the other though which is something that really needs to be stopped.

That's a nice metaphor.
Religion equates to Dutch Courage; is it any wonder they called it spirits?
