If you were raised away from any sorts of religion. If you had never heard of Jesus or God, and then one day, you hear your friend talking about a being in the sky who does all the wonderful things he does, wouldn't you think he was absolutely crazy?

Now you might know how I feel.

"If you want to get together in any exclusive situation and have people love you, fine- but to hang all this desperate sociology on the idea of The Cloud-Guy who has The Big Book, who knows if you've been bad or good- and CARES about any of it- to hang it all on that, folks, is the chimpanzee part of the brain working." -Frank Zappa

That is a very interesting question. This is just off the top of my head. This is how I feel if I were in that situation. Since we all are born with feelings and curiosities, I would ask myself these questions; how did I get here, where did all this environment come from, how does these changes come about, how did it get started, and etc. I would then imagine that there are something out there "spiritually" that's very powerful, that can touch us, but we can't touch it. Some earthy people may think they're superior over others and think that they know every thing but it's only a feeling whether it's good, bad or indifferent.

No one could answer a question like that, because unless they have been in that situation, then how do they know how they would react. Maybe they would at first think it was crazy, but it would also be according to the person who was telling it and how truthful they sounded, as well as the spirit of God working through that person. Lets say that you grew up in an environment where you had never heard of any body not believing in God, and then some one came along and tried to tell you that God did not exist. What would you think, that the person was crazy. Maybe now you might know how some Christians feel. Well most Christians cannot even imagine how some one cannot believe in God, but they respect your right to believe that way.
See, your argument works both ways
And that quote, is just Frank Zappas opinion. He also is entitled to his opinion.

You actually CAN get a false positive--- but it is very rare.. I'd put my money on saying that yes you are pregnant! The odds of a false positive are super rare, and the fact that you got 6 positives pretty much rules out the chance that any of them were false. I'm not sure I followed all the details, but I'm thinking you should be celebrating :) I bet if you wait a few more days you'll get that nice dark blue you're waiting for :) Congratulations and good luck! (i took a million tests my first time too:)

Yes. A lot of people would think that they are crazy.

I don't necessarily think that they are crazy for believing in God (that is their right to question spritual existance), howerver, I do think that they are crazy for their strict fundamentalist beliefs. Such as the world being only 6000 years old and a snake talking to Eve and convincing her to eat an apple, which in turn made man become sinners. This is absurd.

The Bible is also riddled with contradictions. To many to even begin with.

But I also wonder why anyone would want to follow a God that advocates the killing of innocent children. In the Bible, when the Jewish slaves were to flee Egypt, they were spared because they put lamb blood on their door. While the Egyptian first born, incuding Pahroe's son, died. Why didn't God, who is all powerful, just rain Ambien or a sleeping spell down on Egypt, so that the Jews could simply sneak away when they were sleeping? No he had to kill the innocent first born. Is this a loving God or a tyrant?

I had a Christian ask on here, "Why do not Christian hate us." I answered and said it has little to do with hating you. Rather, most people get irritated when you don't keep your "personal savior to yourself!" And if ANYONE is intolerant of other people it seems like Christians are.

So believe in the Bible or not. I personally do not believe that the God, as described in the Bible, is worthy of my worship. With that in mind, I will march proudly into "Hell" (another place of fiction) knowing that I did not agree with the rape, pillage, and killings that were often times condoned by the Judeo-Christian God in the Bible.

Maybe Jesus was so popular becasue he said, "Eat my body in rememberance of me." So maybe people like him becasue he said, "Eat me!"

I was raised in a STRICT, Christian, home and have often thought about what I would believe if I hadn't been raised in that household, by those parents. Because of what I have been taught as a child, I am afraid to believe anything else... just in case my family and church leaders ARE right. If I "fall away" from Christianity, then die... and God ends up being real.... then I am screwed and will burn in hell... haha. It sucks.

You are spot on but don't expect to get a rational answer from people who are guided by blind, indoctrinated faith.

I am in some ways envious of people who have that kind of peace in their lives who can believe in something so completely that it can take away pain, explain terrible things and all without the need to think for themselves.

Those who believe...beleive and those who don't ...don't.
Doesn't make anyone better, worse, etc than the next person.

Some people just push their beliefs or disbeliefs on others.
In my humble opinion when it comes to matters of faith, I think the world would be much more at peace if we all just agreed to disagree.

Yes. lol. It's easier to describe Pantheism and Polytheistic Pantheism than Christianity.
