Politically, the term "conservative" versus "liberal" refers to the amount of influence that the government has on an individual's life. Conservatives feel that government involvement should be at a minimum, so they naturally fill that extra space with other social outlets--one common one being religion.

Yes, I do attempt to make every area of my life (even politics) line up with my religion.
The GOP hasn't cornered the market on religion though. The Democrats have some strong Christian positions - helping the poor & the oppressed, peace, kindness, sharing the wealth etc. But the main difference between Democrats and Republicans at this point in history is, the Democrats are afraid to embrace religion, and they are ashamed of religious beliefs. They attempt to distance themselves from religion whereas the Republicans do not.
It's just a matter of how the party portrays itself. I also think it's related to Marxism. Many in the Democratic party today embrace communist beliefs which (for some reason) include Atheism.

First of all, your question should never mixed up religion and politics...it doesn't necessariy follow that politicians are religious and vice-versa,,so that is out of the question now..what we are talking about here if religious people tend to have conservative views...well, I guess yes, because if they are conservative and traditional they are also in their beleifs no matter what, cultural, religious, personal..they tend to be complacent and stagnant, and we may say narrow-minded at that...because they wont be open for new ideas, for innovations, they will consistently stand firm on what they beleive only/...

I'd be inclined to suggest Conservatism means an increased probably of Fundamentalism.
NOT saying that ALL Conservatives are Fundies, just a lot come from a similar background considered Conservative in their own society/culture.

Religion is strongly related to tradition so it is to be expected that conservative politics (based around tradition) would be more religious on average.

Nope, there are plenty of conservatives that couldn't give a damn about religion. For example, the CEOs of multinational corporations.
And there are plenty of religious folks that are socially liberal. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for example.

No, not always.
In many places there can be at least a perceived association
"The Church of England is the Conservative party at prayer"
But it's not clear cut.
If the last US presidential election was a close-run thing, and 75% of Americans declare themselves to be Christians, at least one third of them voted for the more liberal candidate.
And then, principally in South America, there is the tradition of "liberation theology" with its emphasis of preference for the poor and release from oppression: standing firmly against conservative and entrenched beliefs.
Even Pope John Paul II, generally a severe critic of Liberation theology, was moved to affirn:
"Jesus makes it a condition for our participating in his salvation to give food to the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, console the sorrowing, because "when you do this to one of my least brothers or sisters you do it to me" (Mt 25:40).
Now that would be revolutionary to many.

Does it go hand in hand? Not for me, it doesn't. I'm beyond liberal; I'm a leftist. And I'm a Roman Catholic. I vote after researching the issues. I love my church, but I don't let it tell me how to vote.

As you can see worldwide, man will never agree on right and wrong.
God is the only authority on what is right and what is wrong.
Thank God for making it law against murder, stealing, rape, etc.
