I don't know on your computer but my computer has a built in prgram on my harddrive that restores it to exactly like you bought it like a clean install but without no xp disk my program is called "IQuon system recovery" and if i wanted to run this program id turn on my computer and tap F10 a few times then my IQuon system recovery would do the rest it would perform like a clean install to exactly how you first had the pc..try it you might have the same as me ok

These days, computers aren't distributed with Windows XP disks. The install is on your hard drive in a partition. If your computer is so far gone that you can't find it, you can order the disk(s) from the manufacturer for $10..20. Check the manufacturer's support section of their web site to see if you can find instructions on reinstalling the system and if not, you can order the install disk(s).

the only way is to go to start--all programs--accessories--system tools--System Restore.
The program will guide you through the process.
If your compter is not running properly , you can try to do this in safe mode. When your computer reboots press F8 and then you can run your computer in safe mode.
In XP this is the only way to Restore your computer back to its original status. There are no other ways.
