I have no particular opinion on any particular wildfire-they're all STARTED by some event like a careless human or a lightning strike. My understanding is the rationale connecting wildfires and global warming is in terms of severity and control. Drought/drier conditions thought to be due to global warming result in more extensive fire damage; other factors are usually noted in complete news reports-uncleared underbrush, intrusion of residential tracts in forested areas, which increases the chance of human error and places more easily burned material in the area...I personally think that pointing out that some doofus kid started a fire as evidence that global warming has nothing to do with the severity of wildfires could be considered a Pyrrhic victory at best.

Even if global warming is not to be blamed for any specific fire, increased drought caused by global warming is making the fire situation worse in general.
Experienced fire fighters in the US West and scientists agree about that.
