I should be getting braces soon. But all of my wisdom teeth are pushed out about half-way. Would they have to extract them or can the braces go on as is?

The orthodontist will most likely want them extracted. The wisdom teeth can push on your other teeth and make them crooked, which totally defeats the purpose of braces.

Like the first person said, if there is room in your mouth to accomodate. Some people don't have large enough mouths. Dentists are quick to wanna pull them regardless because they're deemed as unnecessary teeth (though I don't feel that way and have kept mine) but they can't make your teeth crooked if the braces are connected to them as well.

tooth you're scheduled to have extracted are the 2d PREMOLARS. Google "TMJ issues" to ensure what you would possibly want to submit with in case you boost a temporomandibular joint problem. classic orthodontics, like what you'll acquire, places emphasis on teeth in easy words and entirely dismiss the outcomes on facial splendor. it will be on your superb pastime to have enlargement executed to stay away from each and every of the risks listed above. in case your orthodontist refuses or does no longer do or have self assurance in enlargement, then you actually might want to discover yet another orthodontist who does because your well being is depending upon it. in case you do ensure to proceed with antiquated and superseded remedy and your jaw begins to click or pop, you want to inform your orthodontist immediately. in case you do improve a TMJ problem, the fix will be to undo each and every thing that changed into executed on your teeth (reopening the areas closed at the same time as 4 completely good teeth were pulled).

if your mouth has enough room and the wisdom teeth aren't causing any problems, I don't see why they should be removed. Best to consult with your dentist or ortho about the wisdom teeth though, see what they say. He/she would definitely know best.
