I checked out some websites a few minutes ago, about depression and such, and I can relate to a lot of the symptoms. The only problem is that I'm...well, not exactly afraid, but...I don't really want to approach my parents about it. I don't know why, but I just don't.

Lately, I could seem just fine, but the second I leave the room, and I'm alone or something, I feel really depressed. Even if and when I come back to do whatever I was doing, I don't feel the same as I did before I left. I get irritated easily, and I've felted really stressed out lately. I've felt distant from everyone, too. I can't focus much anymore, I never want to get out of bed, I've been more forgetful....The list goes on, but there isn't enough room for every specific thing. So....Does anyone think I'm depressed?

sounds like the definition of clinical depression.

do not be afraid to go to your parents with your concerns... they would want to know that you are feeling this way! with their help, make an appointment with your GP (regular doctor) and tell them about your symptoms and concerns. likely they will give you a short 'test' (called a BDI) and will prescribe medication accordingly. [do not be afraid of this! you'd be surprised by how many people actually take medication for mood disorders and how much it truly does help!] often your doctor will recommend a psychiatrist, who is a medical doctor (that specializes in psych) that can both prescribe medications AND give counsel!

Well, hang in here ans start fighting those symtoms. It can be a cold dark place and it is a hard thing to overcome and makes it near imposible to carry on with daily tasks, even brushing your teeth. It leaves you emotionally and physically exhausted, Give yourself a break, it is not a personal weakness, you are still YOU. This may be a difiicult thing to understand but most of the population has depression. You could be goign through a phase in which the depression was triggered. I have had depression most of my life and have analyzed the symptoms to death, but ater awhile I got tired of feeding into those symptoms, tired of them running my life and making my choices. All I can ay is take a stand. In addition, no matter how much you don't want to, and struggle a huge amount with this, BE around people, feel connection with others. If you know of someone, sure you can find one, that relates and is keeping qiuet for fear of judgment discuss with them what is going on, you'd be surprised, but don't remain in the dark, you deserve to feel better and keep reminding yourself of what life is going to be lie when the depression passes. Don't get too wrapped up over the problems. symptoms from the websites that depression brings on, they are endless and only leave you worried. most of them are pretty general. FOCUS on the SOLUTION rather.

just see if you are having proper night sleep. a delay of about half an hour in getting the sound sleep is ok, but if your sleep is delayed by few hour then you might be suffering from not depresion but stressed. do not worry do some physical exersize. That shoul do well fer you, other wise see your family doc. avoid sleeping pills in any case.
