angels are portrayed in the Bible as messengers sometimes and John was certainly a messenger.

NO . It is documented that John was born of woman. Therefore He could not be a supernatural being / angel.

Nope.

John was naturally conceived, spent 9 months in his mother's womb (wherein he himself received baptism of the Holy Spirit) and then was born about 6 months before his cousin, Jesus.

John did his job, and was killed by Herod, via beheading.

No angel would ever stand still for that.

john was a messenger here on earth for god. he was here to spread the the words of god to who ever would listen. he was not an angel here on earth, but I'm sure he is an angel in heaven now.
